The prompt this week is to show shadows…

The sun streaming thru this store window and the words on the outside of the window were shadowed on the frame inside the store.

Weekly Challenge: Solitude…

The prompt this week is to show solitude.

This statue of a lion sleeping in one of the gardens at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, New Jersey made me feel a sense of solitude.

Weekly Challenge: Ambience…

One definition of ambience is…noun 1.the atmosphere of a place.

I like the ambience created by this chandelier and three wall sconces.

Weekly Challenge: Names…

The prompt: This week, share a photo that includes a name. When you stop and look around, you realize that we’re surrounded by names: street signs, name tags, vanity license plates, boat names, brand names, the spines of the books on your shelf… there are possibilities everywhere.

Look for something esoteric, or keep it close to home with a photo of a building that’s important to you or of your favorite person wearing a monogrammed sweater. Whatever you choose, make sure we can read the name!

The ferry Martha’s Vineyard which travels back and forth from Martha’s Vineyard to Woods Hole, MA.  I love these ships as they’ve taken me all my life to my favorite place.

The prompt this week is path.  This is a picture of my daughter and her dog walking on one of their favorite paths in the woods. I like how they are silhouetted here.

Weekly Challenge: New Horizon…

The prompt:  This week, we’re challenging you to think ahead and show your work in a representative photo. If you set New Year’s resolutions, give them some thought a few weeks early. If resolutions aren’t your style, show us something that you want to achieve — it could be setting a new goal, making plans, or even tackling that pile of laundry waiting by the washer. The goal is to get out of the busy “now,” and imagine your new horizon. Go!

I enjoy coloring, have for many years even before it was trendy :)  I find it relaxing and creative and lately the pictures I’ve been coloring are of an optimistic nature.  I did a calendar of them for 2017.  Below are three of my many favorites.
