Weekly Challenge: Vibrant …

This week prompt is, share a photo of something vibrant. Vivid colors, a lively portrait, or perhaps a delightfully colorful landscape, if you’re in a warmer climate. Let’s wash the web with a rainbow of colors to keep the winter gloom at bay.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My choice for vibrant is a photo of Times Square in New York City.  The colors, the crowds, the noises… it all adds to the vibrancy of what they call the ‘crossroads’ of the world..
Weekly Challenge: Treat …
The prompt is: This week, share with us a photo of something that you consider a marvelous treat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cliche though it may be, a treat for me was when my daughter took me into NYC and we went to Dylan’s candy store… and also stopped at Serendipity II for their famous frozen hot chocolate which I adore…and do not share :)

Weekly Challenge: (Extra)ordinary …

The prompt is :(Extra)ordinary, because our own ideas and experiences will shape our interpretations. What’s mundane yet meaningful to you? What’s a beautiful everyday thing?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just came back from Plymouth, MA where I visited the Mayflower and what I think is extra-ordinary about these photos is the beautiful and vibrant October sky… blue always seems bluer in October
Weekly Challenge: Happy Place …
Weekly prompt: Where do you go when you need to think? What do you do when you need to restore yourself, to ready yourself to take on the coming week with energy and verve? How do you get your sense of humor back? How do you recharge your groove?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There’s no doubt in my mind as to where my happy place is… it’s Martha’s Vineyard… it’s where my heart and soul reside and where I feel restored and peaceful and happy.

I know I use a lot of photos from the Vineyard here, and I have been trying to use pictures from other places…but this week’s challenge HAS to be the Vineyard… just no way around it :)

My happy place is the Tabernacle in the town of Oak Bluffs … no matter when I’m there I go and sit quietly and listen to my inner voice.

Peace. Serenity. Beauty.  Home. Memories.

Weekly Challenge: Today Was A Good Day …

The prompt: For this week’s photo challenge, select and share a series of photographs. You can piece together what you consider an ideal day, recount a memorable day, tell a (visual) story, or show us some of your favorite things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lot of thoughts came to mind about what would constitute a good day… I just didn’t know what to post about… my favorite places, favorite people, foods, vacations… I was torn.   And then this morning a perfect opportunity arose.  My daughter Deb and I go out for coffee every Saturday morning and today we took a mini 3 hour vacation to Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.
Got our coffee and pastry at the Main Lake Market…
and then sat outside and enjoyed our respite.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Creepy …
The prompt is:  This week, share an image of something creepy. Unsettling. Eerie.  Grab a shot of something you find disturbing. Try a black-and-white shot of something you’d normally photograph, to give it a moody cast.  This week give us some heebie-jeebies !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My choice is the abandoned Gingerbread Castle and adjoining Wheatsworh Mill in Hamburg, New Jersey.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall …

Weekly prompt:  From the interior walls of our home, to our book club’s Facebook wall, to the community bulletin board at the local market, walls are the canvases of our lives: where stories are read, voices are heard, ideas are shared. Much can be revealed from the items on a wall, from old postcards to long-forgotten flyers.

This week, consider the walls you’ve erected and decorated, the halls you walk down each day, or the exteriors you’ve ignored or neglected. What do these walls reveal about a place, people, or you?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I haven’t decorated, erected or painted any of these walls but each one has intrigued me enough to take a picture.
