The gang plank of the Mayflower replica in Plymouth, MA. This is definitely a step into the future…
These photographs were taken in October 2015 on a trip to Plymouth. My descendants came to America on the first voyage of the Mayflower. I could not imagine, even with my vivid imagination what their trip was like. Hearty souls indeed.

The Hudson river flowing east to NYC… taken from Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, NY
A picture of Milford, Pennsylvania taken from High Point Monument in New Jersey… you can see three states from the monument, the highest point in NJ.

These photos of sunset were taken at a friend’s house on Martha’s Vineyard. Supper on a screened in porch overlooking Vineyard Sound, followed by the most dramatic and beautiful sunset I’d ever seen. Perfect end to a perfect evening.

My choice for ‘dance’ are these scuptures at the Field Gallery in W Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard. You cannot but dance with these whimsical statues that dot the field behind the gallery. They make me smile every time I go there :)

The prompt this week is to share an image where you see a particularly strong connection between what we see and what you felt as you pressed that shutter button on your camera. I thought about this for a few days and decided that instead of showing photos that depicted my state of mind I would share where my mind goes when it needs to be elsewhere. When I need to relax, day dream, recollect memories or just pretend I’m there… that place is Martha’s Vineyard and if you read my other blog www.mvobsession.com you’ll know that it is where my heart and soul reside.

My first inclination was to share photos of flowers because in the midst of February flowers blooming and things greening and the change of season is greatly looked forward to.

The prompt is to think about time and portray it photographically. Perhaps you have a fascination with clocks. Or maybe contemplating time takes you somewhere else completely.

This is my granfather Charles’s pocket watch. He died in 1910 and I’m not sure how long he had this pocket watch but it’s safe to say it’s over 100 years old.
A close up of the intricate pictures on the front and back.
For many years the watch sat in my jewelry box untouched. Recently I took it out and wound it and it began ticking… it was missing hands though.
New hands, new pocket watch chain, thorough cleaning and the watch is keeping time once again. Actually that’s not entirely true, Charles the watch doesn’t always keep the correct time every day… seems Charles is having a bit of a good time teasing us.
It’s okay that Charles the pocket watch is ticking to its own time… sort of goes along with this wall clock of mine that cares not what time it is :)
