I’ve done a lot of these counted cross stitch maps of the Vineyard and each one has been for a special person. This particular one was for my daughter Patty for Christmas 2008. Imagine my surprise when I looked in a long forgotten box and found the one below done by another very special person in my life…
… my mother. She must have done this over 80 years ago and it is in amazingly good condition. Thank you mom for a beautiful surprise.
Turns out we both did Gay Head Lighthouse …
Hers which has the light housekeepers house attached to it…
mine..
…which is part of the 5 lighthouses of Martha’s Vineyard

The one below is looking down from almost next to last row in the top of the theatre when we went to see ‘Phantom of the Opera’ several months ago in NYC. We were really looking down.

Define “favorite” in whatever way works best for you. Anything goes, as long as it’s a photo from 2017. If you want to share several images, that’s fine too — a “best of 2017” gallery could be fun if you can’t settle on one photo.

I have a hard time settling on one picture for almost all of the challenges and this one is no different so here goes… my gallery…
Martha’s Vineyard is up first… I can never take enough pictures of my favorite place on the planet. These were taken in October 2017.
Cape May, New Jersey.. April 2017
And of course one must have a favorite flower picture
But I think one of my favorite pictures is the re-creation my daughter Deb and I did of my mother and grandmother from the 1920’s, standing (and sitting) by the statue of Lincoln in front of the courthouse in Newark, New Jersey.

The prompt was to share a photo that means serene to you. I’m sharing two because they both represent serenity to me. Both taken in October on Martha’s Vineyard standing pretty much in the same spot near the Edgartown Lighthouse.

The prompt is: This week, share a peek of something — a photo that reveals just enough of your subject to get us interested. A tantalizing detail. An unusual perspective. Compel us to click through to your post to find out more!
