2011 Stash Party Pinwheels quilt

008 012

Riley thinks her quilt is done. Little does she know, this quilt is going to Texas with me very soon. Don’t worry, there are plenty of other quilts here for her napping pleasure!

A few more blocks and an ironing board makover

001 015 012

Pressing my blocks properly was really starting to drive me crazy. I haven’t had the new ironing board cover for very long but already it’s degraded beyond useful and since the ironing board isn’t a solid surface it really makes a difference. I’ve been meaning to do an ironing board makeover for at least a year and the wonkiness of the bear claw block was the last straw. I used a combination of Madame Purl’s method and the tutorial from Sew We Quilt. My board is 1/2-inch poplar plywood and it’s covered with two twin cotton quilt battings, each folded in half, and a layer of duck cloth. It’s screwed to the ironing board (old cover removed)  as directed in the Sew We Quilt tutorial. Now that’s a bit better!

Fun with Quiltastick

I ordered my quiltastick ages ago but finally sat down this week to decorate my machine. What fun!

Yet more Farmer’s Wife blocks

I’m on a roll with these but I really need to stop and get back to other projects. I have a quilt to be quilted before the end of the month and then another quilt to be assembled as a late gift. Must stop sewing these addictive squares!

Even more Farmer’s Wife Blocks

These are going much more smoothly now that I’ve realized the scant 1/4-inch does NOT work for me. I have a long way to go on these but they are a lot of fun!

Farmer’s Wife blocks

I missed the April Farmer’s Wife class due to our North Carolina trip and then May was cancelled so the instructor could take a trip of her own. It’s time for a little catch up!

Stash Party Stars, Block of the Month for May

These seems to be flying by this year. I’ll pick up pattern #6 sometime this week and be halfway done already.

Where the action is

Yesterday, I started preparing for a new quilt and everyone had to be right where the action happens. I’m planning to do a Sister’s Choice quilt, something like this.

Holiday Weekend in Pictures

Although we are not technically on summer vacation yet, we still tried to enjoy the first official weekend of summer to its fullest.

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
