All in one

IMG_7529 new computer

It was time for a new computer and especially time for a new monitor as the old one has developed a constant unrelenting squeal. I chose an all-in-one that has the business that’s usually stored in a tower all squeezed onto the back of the monitor. As soon as I’ve done transferring all the files, I’ll have a much tidier desk. This fella doesn’t fit in the old desk so some new office furniture is in order. Watch for part two next week!

Cheeky!

The squirrel baffle that was so effective on the patio is all but useless now that the feeder is out in the grass. They jump straight up past it without any trouble at all. I think it’s time to switch from this straight version to the really flared one.

What goes up…

Last October when we had the Halloween snowstorm, the tops of two large oaks out behind the fence were broken. They’ve been sort of hanging around ever since and this week they finally came down.  There was only a gentle breeze so they didn’t come crashing through windows and they didn’t smash the fence.  It’ll be a heck of a job to clear them away this weekend but it’s nice not to have to worry about them anymore.

On the ball!

At the urging of my massage therapist, I have finally switched to a stability ball as a desk chair. I’ve tried a few times before but had a hard time finding one the right size. As it turns out, the largest one a bit under inflated works well.

Curtains

We’ve been in this house for quite awhile now but it’s taken us all this time to finally get around to installing nice curtains. We started out with just rollup shades and graduated to nicer cloth shades with sheers and now we have actual factual curtains with pretty sheers and lovely leafy rods and tiebacks. It was well worth the wait.

Week #3 Mosaic …

My creation

We got a few prints framed that had been lounging on the walls still in their plastic bag sleeves. The walls are looking ever so much nicer now! There’s one last print at the framing shop and then the living room framing will be all caught up.

Newest member of the family

newest member of the family

This week has been all about getting to know the newest member of our family. We’ve wanted an elliptical for several years and finally took the plunge on President’s day. It was delivered Friday after I left for SPA so Monday was my first chance to use it. So far, I really love it.
